Cupping/Guasha
Guasha (gwa-sha) is a form of therapy which employs dermal friction and pressure to help relieve primarily musculo-skeletal disorders. A lubricant is placed on the skin and the guasha tool is run over the treatment area. It is very useful for tight muscles in the back. People often will feel a difference when they get off the treatment table.
Cupping therapy is primarily used for musculo-skeletal disorders like sprains, strains, muscle spasms, etc. A vacuum is created in the cups by placing a flame in the cup and the cup is then placed on the skin creating suction. This action draws the skin upward into the cup helping to relieve congestion of blood and energy in the area where it is placed..
